Congratulations Olivia Bobbit!

Ms. Bobbit took silver in the 18-20 Female Elite Kumite division which earned her a spot on the USA Team. She will be representing the United States at the 2010 PKF Championships in Montreal, Canada, on August 20-22.

Sensei Michael H. Vanatta Sr.

Founder & Owner

Training since 1967. Currently Nana-Dan (7th degree black belt) in Wado-Ryu Karate and Ni-Kyu (brown belt) in Judo/Ju-jitsu. Primarily trained in Wado by Shihan Cecil T. Patterson, the highest ranking occidental (non-Japanese) Wadoka in the world and credited with bringing Wado-Ryu to America.

Sensei Vanatta has also trained with most of the great worldwide Wado masters including founder Hironori Ohtsuka, current grandmaster Hironori Ohtsuka II (Jiro), Tatsuo Suzuki, Koji Takamatsu, Masafumi Shiomitsu, and Kazataka Ohtsuka.

Sensei Vanatta has served many of the major Wado organizations, including roles as assistant director for the United States Eastern Wado Ryu Federation (USEWF) and on the board of directors for the USA branch of the Wado International Karate Federation (WIKF).

Retired police officer, and formerly in charge of special security at the Tennessee State Courthouse. Certified Police Defensive Tactics Instructor and Certified FBI Firearms Instructor.

Certified USA-NKF Kumite Referee and Kata Judge.

Special interests include classic traditional martial arts practice as well as martial arts history, philosophy, and strategy.

Training since 1979. Currently Go-Dan (5th degree black belt). Certified group aerobics exercise instructor through Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA). Certified USA-NKF Kumite Referee and Kata Judge.

Her competitive history includes great success in kata in the RSKC and USEWF venues.

Special interests include children’s program development, group fitness, and competitive kata.
