Fierce
What is Team Fierce?!?
At VMA you will often see references to Team Fierce and its logo…but what is it?!
Team Fierce is not a tangible organized team, but a concept. It represents the competitive spirit of VMA ventures whether it be karate, running, or any contest driven endeavor. It is a mascot or “alter-ego” of sorts whenever we go into “competition mode.”
The term “fierce” inspires images of ferocious activity. Being intensely eager and determined. Tenacious. Passionate. Unrestrained in your efforts and being willing to do whatever it takes to be successful.
Team Fierce reminds us that “win” is not necessarily a bad word and is not anti-Budo. Winning, or the desire to do so, can be used to drive our successes.
We want our competition athletes to know there is either “win” or “didn’t win.” There is no “lose” as long as knowledge, experience, and new friends are gained. Make no mistake, our team, even in “fierce” mode, will always be professional, honorable, respectful, and courteous.
Team Fierce allows us to have a bit of fun with our “competitive assertiveness.” To have cool posters. To play loud music. To talk a little smack during our training.
The logo is intended to be a little menacing. But don’t be scared. Well….maybe a little…..
